Brittle Cracking Abaqus Tutorial

Hi,I am working on Epoxy material damage for a research project. We observed from the experiments that the Epoxy material just fails without any plastic deformation and tensile yield strength is lower than compression (2-3 times).

So, inorder to simulate the material damage model in Abaqus, could anyone advise me that which damage model I should consider for my analysis? Most of the material-damage models available for ductile materials, for example, General Ductile, Jhonson-Crook, Druckker Prager model, atc.Although I could see brittle cracking mode, its only availble in Abaqus/Explicit if am not wrong. Thanks in advance,Bernad.

Optional parameters DEPENDENCIESSet this parameter equal to the number of field variable dependencies included in the definition of the postcracking behavior, in addition to temperature. If this parameter is omitted, it is assumed that the postcracking behavior depends only on temperature. See for more information. TYPESet TYPE= STRAIN (default) to specify the postcracking behavior by entering the postfailure stress-strain relationship directly.Set TYPE= DISPLACEMENT to define the postcracking behavior by entering the postfailure stress/displacement relationship directly.Set TYPE= GFI to define the postcracking behavior by entering the failure stress, σ t ⁢ u I, and the Mode I fracture energy, G f I.

Data lines if the TYPE= STRAIN parameter is included (default) First line.Remaining direct stress after cracking, σ t I. (Units of FL - 2.).Direct cracking strain, e n ⁢ n c ⁢ k.Temperature.First field variable.Second field variable.Etc., up to five field variables. The first point at each value of temperature must have a cracking strain of 0.0 and gives the failure stress value. Subsequent lines (only needed if the DEPENDENCIES parameter has a value greater than five).Sixth field variable.Etc., up to eight field variables per line.Repeat this set of data lines as often as necessary to define the dependence of the postcracking behavior on temperature and other predefined field variables.
